EMS has purchased 2 new Z Corp Z650 3D Printers for use in their rapid prototyping services group.  The new Z650 offers many benefits over the Z510 technology.  For starters, the new Z650 uses the automation system found in the Z450 to automatically recycle all the unused material back into a feed hopper in the machine.  When the Z650 finishes printing a part the powder drops through small openings in the floor of the build chamber and gets filtered and recycled back up into the feed hopper.  Also when you depowder the part this material also gets filtered and reloaded into the feed hopper.  This technology really helps in the speed of post processing and recycling the material.  It also keeps everything contained in the 3D printer.Other improvements include a separate black channel so instead of using RGB color like the Z510, it now uses CMYK color.  This allows for deeper blacks and more realistic earth tones.  In comparing parts created on the Z510 versus the Z650 some of the colors look more brilliant and darker colors are noticeably improved.The final major enhancement is the build size which is one inch larger in the Y direction making the build chamber 10 x 15 x 8 inches.  Parts larger than this can be built in pieces and then bonded together.Like the Z450 the Z650 is the next generation in 3D printing technology from Z Corp.  EMS has been involved with Z Corp 3D printers since 2001 and the Z650 has come a long way from the original Z400 series back then.   The Z650 3D Printer offers SLA like resolution, accuracy and detail at a fraction of the cost and in an office environment.
